As we, Catholics, celebrate the Queenship of Our Mother Mary, I pray for Her intercession and protection, especially for Her faithful and fervent priests who face persecution during this time of upheaval within the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Even the readings from the prophet Ezekiel
(Ez 34:2) over two thousand years ago warns “Thus says the Lord GOD: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been pasturing themselves! Should not shepherds, rather, pasture sheep?” Of course, they were warned and so were we and we should pray for these priests and for their victims. But what about the faithful priests who now are scrutinized, ridiculed, and even finger printed. What about these victims?
What of those shepherds who are “pasturing the sheep”, the many faithful and fervent in Jesus’s mission; who put on their priestly collar on and go out to pray over the sick, serve the poor, who bring back sinners to Him, and who bring the flock back to the Holy Eucharist? They have been affected by those shepherds who have fallen and forgotten their oath to God. The faithful and fervent priests who are pure of heart, they are victims, too.
Please, pray for all priests and especially give prayerful support to those priests who are pure of heart and care for the flock. They need our prayers more than ever before.
Pray our PAPA Prayer for Priests, daily. Prayer is powerful and the more of us who pray this prayer the louder our voices are, and our cry will be heard by our most Compassionate God.
