Allow me to give glory to God. Today is the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul-God's chosen Apostle to the Gentile (non-Jew) world. Praise be to God.
My Saint Paul was my father-in-law, Ignacio Ramirez, a man who in his early adulthood did not follow the Lord. Through the unfailing love, patience and prayers of his wife, my beloved mother-in-law, he eventually had a dramatic conversion before I met my future wife, Theresa.
I tremble at the thought of what his family would have looked like had he not 'responded' to God's call to conversion. As with Saint Paul's response, my father-in-law's response had 'far' reaching implications for the salvation of many others; mine included. My own response to God's graces also had 'far' reaching implications for my life, my wife, and our children!
Today, if you hear God's voice, harden not your heart! (Psalm 95:8) Your response will also have 'far' reaching implications.
