FRIDAY OF THE FIFTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME JULY 16, 2021

MASS READINGS:

Responsorial Psalm 116:12-13, 15 and 16bc, 17-18

R. (13) I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the Lord. How shall I make a return to the LORD for all the good he has done for me? The cup of salvation I will take up, and I will call upon the name of the LORD. R. I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the Lord. Precious in the eyes of the LORD is the death of his faithful ones. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid; you have loosed my bonds. R. I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the Lord. To you will I offer sacrifice of thanksgiving, and I will call upon the name of the LORD. My vows to the LORD I will pay in the presence of all his people. R. I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the Lord.

REFLECTION

To you will I offer sacrifice of thanksgiving, and I will call upon the name of the LORD.

If we understand the Mass, we would be in a continuous state of celebration. It is a foretaste of eternal glory and happiness.

Through the first Passover we remember and give thanks for the delivery of the Hebrew people from slavery. In the second Passover we celebrate the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.

The Old Passover was replaced by the New Passover. Countless people have received life

Every day we thank God for the Paschal mystery. Every day we thank Him for His most precious gift to us of love and life.

Next time we go to Mass, come with a thankful heart, knowing that our gentle loving God will never forsake us if we ask Him to stay.

May our whole day be a continuation of the Center of our life, the Mass.

Thank you, God, for my many blessings whether they be trials and tribulations or a basketful of heavenly treats here on earth.
