The Prayer
by
Carole Bayer Sager/David W. Foster
I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer when we lose our way.
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe
I pray we'll find your light
And hold it in our hearts
When stars go out each night
Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
We ask that life be kind
And watch us from above
We hope each soul will find
Another soul to love
Let this be our payer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child
Need to find a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
Let us not forget the sacrifices of our armed forces, the sacrifices of their families.
May we remember them with special prayers this day.
There have been so many chaplains and Catholic priests hearing confession and saying Mass to the troops either during peace, during war, in the battle fields, in POW camps and concentration camps.
