We have a natural inclination to hold our mother near and dear because we know that through her flesh, her blood, and her suffering we came to be a new creation.
Ironically, Hollywood made two war movies ('Saving Private Ryan', and 'Covenant'(2023) that provide sharp insights into what it feels like to exist only because of the sacrifices made for you. In both movies, the one who is saved has a powerful driving sense of doing what is right in gratitude for the sacrifices made!
Jesus help me to understand like Mary Magdalene, that through your flesh, your blood, and your suffering and death on the cross, I am a new creation. You saved me to be happy in this life; but better still, in eternal life!
