"Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God"(Ps. 123: 2)
My wife Theresa and I taught our children to look at our hands carefully to see how we were performing that task, whether cooking, cleaning, yard work, or repairs; the purpose was to teach them not only how to do the task but also learn to anticipate the next step so that they could step in to help perform that step. A good helper always speeds up completion of the task. Right? Watch what God is doing! He wants hard workers in the harvest and at the end of the day we want to hear him tell us, "Well done good and faithful servant". (Mt 25:21)
