"...you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness."
(Matthew 13:23-27)
The scribes and Pharisees appeared ‘beautiful’ on the outside but didn't know they were dead on the inside. In our time there’s a fascination with the walking dead (zombies). Then, there’s also the movie, "The Sixth Sense", about a child psychologist who didn’t know he was dead. The thought of being dead, and not know it, should terrify us.
We are complicated creatures: physically and psychologically. We might not know something is broken but we probably realize something is off. Humility is necessary to admit that. People who love us might have already pointed things out. Jesus can help; He wants us to have life, life in abundance - eternal life.
