REFLECTION

" From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female."

Since 1973 the Catholic Church in the United States has appointed October as "Respect Life Month". This year, October 6th has been appointed as Respect Life Sunday.

This is also an election year. The USCCB provides us with a number of resources to help us form a faithful citizenship conscience. We have linked these on our website under the "Vote for the Baby" Section.

We don't promote one candidate or another. We encourage you to vote for the person that promotes life, born or nascent.

Below are the words of our spiritual director, Fr. Michael on the subject:

Why not choose PAPA PRO-LIFE? Obviously, PAPA loves life! We promote and protect all life, especially the lives of the most vulnerable pre-born babies. We chose the name PAPA FOR LIFE because we recognize that the pre-born Jesus in His mother’s womb was the Lord God Incarnate. He is our eternal life and we worship the pre-born Jesus as our Lord and God.

God, the Father, our PAPA, loves us, so He has given us His only-begotten Son, the pre-born Jesus to save us from sin. In fact, the pre-born Lord Jesus saved His cousin-brother, John the Baptist, when He as a pre-born and His Virgin Mother paid a visit to Zachariah’s family. This is to show how God, our PAPA, loves. He loves us forever and this is what we mean by “FOR LIFE.”

PAPA FOR LIFE means God, Our PAPA, loves us forever. He wants all to have abundant life, especially the most vulnerable pre-born ones. He sees in each and every one of them His Son, the pre-born Christ Jesus. Let us love and praise God, our PAPA, and fight for the life of the many little pre-born Christs and their mothers.

PRAYER FOR THE NASCENT BABIES

For ending Abortion

(Why the nascent babies?)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you”  (Jeremiah 1:5).

My Lord, my God, Jesus Christ—the Most Holy Nascent, we adore you with all our heart. We beseech You,  Lord, to save the life of the nascent babies in their mother’s wombs. Save them from the atrocity of abortion.

We pray for the expecting mothers: Give them Your light of love and Your heart of trust, so they will to keep their baby until they are born.  We pray for their fathers: Give them the Fear of the Lord, so they will to take the responsibility to take care of the mother and the child. * Give them the courage to fight for the life of their baby.

We pray for the doctors: Give them Your conscience, Lord, so they will to see the nascent baby with the kindness of Your Most Sacred Heart, * and to firmly reject and bravely protest against abortion.

We offer to you the leaders of our own country —all professors, politicians, business owners, lawyers, judges, State representatives, Governors, Senators and the President. Give them Your faith and confidence, so they will to worship You and establish laws defending the life of the nascent.

We offer you all religious teachers, deacons, priests and bishops. Give them the spirit of daily repentance, so they will to lead a life of holiness. Give them the courage of Your Sacred Heart to lay down their life to teach, preach and give witness to You, the Nascent Lord Jesus, and Your Gospel of life.

Today, I offer my life and all my sacrifices in exchange for the life of one nascent child  who is in danger of being slaughtered by abortion. Through the intercession of St. Gerard, the Patron of expectant mothers and their nascent children, hear our prayers. Lord Jesus, You were once a Nascent child in Your Mother’s womb. * Have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Amen.
