Entrance Antiphon
Remember your compassion, O Lord, and your merciful love, for they are from of old. Let not our enemies exult over us. Redeem us, O God of Israel, from all our distress. (Psalm 25 (24):6,2,22)
REFLECTION
“Remember your compassion, O Lord, and your merciful love..”
Nothing surpasses God’s compassion and mercy. Not evil, not our sins. Nothing!
Are our grievous offenses keeping us from asking for forgiveness from Jesus when He makes Himself available in the priest in confession?
Do pride, cynicism, jealousy, pettiness, memories of hurts keeping us from God’s glory and love? When we concentrate on our wretchedness we make ourselves the center of our life, not God. Remember we are nothing.
As prodigal children we know we have sinned. God keeps reminding us what He has in store for us—eternal life with Him if we repent. Please read in our website Father Michael’s Day 2 of 40 Days of Repentance with Priests.
We are made by God, we belong to God and we are destined to return to God.
Surrender to Him — for a good Lent. Forty days of repenting with reparation and purification so we can meet Jesus in His Glory on Easter.
"A heart contrite and humbled, O God, you will not spurn."
(Psalm 51)
