Gospel

Mt 11:28-30

Jesus said to the crowds:

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,

and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,

for I am meek and humble of heart;

and you will find rest for yourselves.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

REFLECTION

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me...

For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

Jesus is the model of meekness and humility. Contemplating His greatness, we are reminded of His mercy, graciousness and His abounding love. With hope in God, we can find strength to stay in the battle.

Yet, stupidly defying Him seems easy. Misery is the result of our sinfulness. How can this be? A loving God, calls us to come to Him, invites us to partake in His yoke because it is easy and the burden light. He carries the heaviest part of the yoke and is offering forgiveness when we repent.

Do we trust a God who tells us over and over of His love for us: who makes love, joy and peace a reality? Always welcoming, we are invited to go to Him, in simplicity, imitating Him.

Where is the Baby who is calling us to prepare for His coming? Never losing patience, He repeats His message over and over and waits. Will people see the Baby in us? What is found in our hearts depends on ourselves, accepting Him as He tells us to follow in meekness and humility.

Any problems, go to Jesus, learn from Him, for He is gentle and lowly in heart.

God Bless You
